Answered Prayers: Israel’s Sons Return Home

For two years we have prayed. We have tied yellow ribbons. We have written, called, fasted, and told the truth when it was costly. We have stood with the widows and the wounded. Today, as living hostages return home, we lift our hands in gratitude. God has heard.

“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” (Psalm 126:3, NIV)

Among those returning home is Matan, an IDF soldier who fought like a lion beside his tankmates Daniel, Tomer, and Itay on October 7, 2023. He was the only one to survive—and spent two long years in Hamas captivity.

As he was flown by helicopter to the hospital, wrapped in the flag of Israel, Matan held a whiteboard with a message written in Hebrew:

“Daniel, Tomer, Itay — you are kings of the lions.
The nation of Israel lives in the merit of all our heroes in uniform.”

Those words are a testimony of loyalty, courage, and faith that echoes through all of Israel—and through every Esther who refused to stop praying.

You kept watch when headlines were heavy and answers were few. You showed up at vigils. You set a place at your table and saved a seat in your prayers. You prayed for grieving families. You gave. You shared truth when others spread lies. Your faithfulness mattered. It helped carry sons and daughters home.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” (Psalm 118:1, NIV)

Let’s continue to love boldly and pray without ceasing:

  • Pray for the healing of body, mind, and spirit for those who are home.

  • Comfort the bereaved and the brave.

  • Keep the yellow ribbons in place until all hostage remains are returned.

“And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14, NIV)

Today’s Prayer
Lord, thank You for answered prayers and for every life returned. Surround the families with Your peace. Strengthen caregivers and leaders. Let courage rise and hope endure in Israel and in us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Esthers, you have been faithful. You have stood in the gap with love and perseverance.
