For Such a Time as This: 72 Hours to Pray

As of today, a ceasefire has begun in Gaza with a partial IDF pullback and a 72-hour window for Hamas to return hostages. News reports differ on the details, but the clock is running. This is a moment for modern-day Esthers to lean in.

At Christian Women For Israel, we don’t chase every headline. We take the headline to prayer. We ask the Lord, who moves hearts and history, to move now. “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.” (Psalm 122:6)

Three Days. Three Set Times.

Choose simple, steady touchpoints: 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 6:00 PM (your time). Set an alarm. Pause. Pray with us.

Six Prayer Targets for the Next 72 Hours

  1. Hostages home! Alive and swiftly. “…proclaim freedom for the captives.” (Isaiah 61:1)

  2. Comfort for waiting families. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” (Psalm 34:18)

  3. Wisdom and restraint for leaders and mediators. “…pray for kings and all those in authority.” (1 Timothy 2:1–2)

  4. Protection for the innocent. “Seek the peace… and pray to the Lord for it.” (Jeremiah 29:7)

  5. Justice without new bloodshed; confusion for terror. “Seek peace and pursue it.” (Psalm 34:14)

  6. Courage for modern-day Esthers to watch and pray. “…for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)

Consider a Simple Fast

Skip one meal each day. Offer that hunger as intercession for the hostages and for the safety of the innocent. Keep water nearby. Keep Scripture nearer.

A Note on the News

Reports indicate a partial pullback and a time-bound pause. Some details vary by outlet. That’s okay. We will pray with urgency and with hope while this window is open.

Today’s Prayer

Lord Jesus, stretch out Your hand. Guard every hostage; steady every waiting heart. Grant wisdom to leaders; shield the innocent; confound the schemes of terror. “May those who love You be secure.” (Psalm 122:6–7) Amen.
