The Baby Formula Scandal - When Hamas Starved Its Own Children and the Media Looked Away

This week, anti-Hamas activists revealed footage from a Hamas-controlled warehouse — run through the Gaza Ministry of Health — filled floor to ceiling with baby formula, nutritional shakes, and specialized medical supplements.

Not trickles.
Not isolated boxes.
Tons of supplies.

Supplies the world was led to believe did not exist.
Supplies the media claimed Israel prevented from reaching children.
Supplies that never reached the desperate mothers who begged international reporters for help.

Israel, meanwhile, had delivered over 1,400 tons of formula into Gaza during the very months when headlines accused it of starving babies.

Yet the formula never made it into the hands of the families who needed it most.

It was never meant to.

The Media’s Story Was Simple — and Wrong

Major newspapers built an entire global narrative on the assumption that Israel had cut off formula shipments:

  • The New York Times: “Parents in Gaza Are Running Out of Ways to Feed Their Children.”

  • The Guardian: Babies “at risk of death from lack of formula.”

  • Multiple outlets showcased photographs of malnourished children, implying deliberate Israeli cruelty.

Some of those children, it was later reported, suffered from pre-existing medical conditions. But the narrative was already too powerful to question.
It fit the frame.
It fueled outrage.
It demanded clicks.

And so Israel was cast as the villain in a crisis Hamas engineered.

Where Were the Follow-Up Headlines?

Once the warehouse was discovered — once tons of formula were shown sitting under Hamas control — those same outlets went silent.

The story evaporated.

The accusations, however, still linger in the global imagination.

This is the cost of laundering Hamas propaganda through Western media:
truth becomes optional, and terror gains a megaphone.

Why Would Hamas Withhold Food From Its Own Children?

Because Hamas has never been a social welfare movement.
It is not a protector of Palestinians.
It is not a government in any meaningful sense.

Hamas is a terrorist organization whose primary strategy is to leverage suffering — especially the suffering of its own civilians — to achieve political gain.

Withholding formula served a purpose:

  • Create images that would turn world opinion against Israel.

  • Pressure Western leaders into demanding concessions.

  • Mobilize sympathy for Hamas as a “victim” rather than a perpetrator.

In the process, children paid the price.

This Is Why Hamas Cannot Remain in Power

The baby formula scandal is not an anomaly. It is a window into Hamas’s governing philosophy:

  • Exploit civilians.

  • Manipulate the media.

  • Never take responsibility.

  • Blame Israel for everything.

This is the organization Western outlets were quoting as reliable sources on humanitarian needs.

This is the group some still ask Israel to “negotiate with.”

This is the regime that controls Gaza’s hospitals, its aid distribution, its tunnels, its propaganda — and its people.

When the world finally sees the truth, it becomes clear why Israel insists that any lasting ceasefire must include the removal of Hamas from power.

No people can flourish under rulers who starve their children for public relations.

A Final Word on Integrity and Truth

The story of Esther shows us what happens when evil is allowed to operate behind palace doors. Mordecai would not bow to lies, and neither should we.

Media outlets that elevated falsehood now face a moral test:
Will they correct the record?
Will they acknowledge how they were manipulated?
Will they apply the same scrutiny to Hamas that they insist on applying to Israel?

So far, many have chosen silence.

But for those who love truth — and for those who love Israel — silence is not an option.

The world deserves the truth.
Gaza’s children deserve the truth.
And Israel deserves the truth.
