Three Prayers Every Modern-Day Esther Can Pray This Week

You may not stand in a royal court like Esther, but your kitchen table, car line, or prayer chair can become a place of real impact for Israel.

Some days, the headlines about Israel and the Jewish people feel heavy. You read about threats, hatred, and confusion, and your heart asks, “Lord, what can I do from here?”

modern-day Esther does not shrug and move on. She prays.

Scripture gives us simple, powerful words we can pray over Israel and the Jewish people again and again. Here are three you can carry into this week:

  1. Pray for peace in Jerusalem.
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May those who love you be secure.’” (Psalm 122:6, NIV)
Ask God to protect families, soldiers, and leaders who carry the weight of defending the nation.
  2. Pray for truth to rise.
“The LORD watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow…” (Psalm 146:9, NIV)
Pray that lies against Israel would be exposed, and that those who are vulnerable would be defended.
  3. Pray for courage for Esthers in public life.
“Be strong and courageous… for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9, NIV)
Ask God to strengthen women who are speaking out against antisemitism and standing with Israel in government, media, and ministry.

In our recent Esther of the Week feature, we highlight Congresswoman Elise Stefanik—one of those women taking risks to confront antisemitism directly.

When you and I pray these prayers, we are not helpless observers. We are joining God’s heart for His people, and standing in agreement with Esthers around the world.
