Indoctrinating Children: The Dark Stage at the People’s Conference for Palestine

HonestReporting has exposed disturbing scenes from the People’s Conference for Palestine in Detroit. For the second year in a row, the event gave a platform to terror sympathizers, Hamas apologists, and anti-American voices. But one of the most chilling moments was not from a seasoned activist — it was from children.

On stage, children as young as six were invited to participate in a “curriculum on resistance.” Wearing keffiyehs, they led chants of “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” The organizers proudly declared these boys and girls the “next generation of resistance activists” who would one day be on the front lines.

“Children were invited out on the stage as the next generation of ‘resistance’ activists, wearing keffiyehs and leading the chant, ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.’”

This is not cultural pride or education. This is indoctrination. Instead of learning peace, these children are being trained to glorify violence. Instead of being protected, they are being used as tools for an ideology that praises terror and justifies atrocities like October 7.

The Manhattan Institute’s Stu Smith rightly called it what it is: indoctrination and militarization of the young. Imagine teaching children to celebrate armed resistance — a phrase that in reality means rape, mutilation, murder, and kidnapping.

And yet, The Detroit News covered the conference as if it were just another community gathering. Their report described an English teacher asking for help with school supplies. They even photographed embroidered art that glorified “armed resistance” — without questioning or exposing the violence those words conceal.

As Modern-Day Esthers, we must bear witness to this reality. Silence allows lies to grow. Failing to name the indoctrination of children as wrong gives cover to those who exploit the innocent.

The Bible tells us in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” The terrifying truth is that Hamas and its sympathizers are training children not in the ways of peace, but in the ways of hate and bloodshed. And unless we speak up, these young lives will be stolen long before adulthood — first by ideology, then by violence.

This is not simply an Israeli problem. It is a moral problem. It is a warning to the West that hatred is being planted in the hearts of children, even on American stages.

Our Call as Modern-Day Esthers:

  • Pray for these children, that God would rescue them from lies and draw them into truth.

  • Share truth in our own communities, so propaganda does not take root unchallenged.

  • Hold media accountable when they whitewash indoctrination. Journalism should expose darkness, not cover it up.

Never Again means refusing to let a new generation be taught to celebrate murder. It means lifting our voices, as Queen Esther did, for those who cannot yet speak for themselves.
