Discern the Season

Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”  As Christian Women for Israel, we are called to recognize the time we are in, understanding that every event—whether joyful or challenging—is part of His divine plan.

In Ecclesiastes 3:2-8, the text continues, listing a series of life’s seasons: “A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot...” These opposites show us that God has woven together the entire tapestry of human experience. He is present in both the highs and lows of life. This gives us hope in knowing that there is a time for healing and peace, just as there is a time for conflict and war.

When we pray through this passage, we can ask God for wisdom to discern the season we are in and the strength to fulfill His purpose for us during this time. Whether it’s a season of spiritual growth or a time to confront challenges head-on, we can be comforted by knowing that His timing is perfect.

As we meditate on His Word, let us pray:

  • Father, help us to recognize the season You have placed us in. Whether it is a time to act or a time to rest, grant us the wisdom to follow Your will.
  • Lord, in seasons of difficulty, remind us that You are in control and that there is a time for healing, restoration, and joy.
  • God, in times of conflict, give us the strength to be Your instruments of peace, standing firm in Your promises.

This passage also calls us to trust that everything happens according to God's timing. As Proverbs 3:5 reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” When we surrender to His divine timing, we can find peace and purpose, knowing that He is guiding us in every season.

Let us also pray:

  • Father, help us surrender to Your timing, trusting in Your greater plan, even when we cannot see the full picture.
  • Guide us to use our time wisely, for the work You have called us to do for Your Kingdom and for Your people.

As we think about Ecclesiastes 3:1 and its message of God's perfect timing, may we find both comfort and strength, knowing that God is always with us, in every season, leading us forward in His divine plan.

And as you join us in praising the Living God for the miracle of the modern-day state of Israel, we pray you’ll renew your own resolve to bless Israel and the Jewish people by giving a generous gift of support.

May God bless you for being a blessing to Israel and the Jewish people
