In a pivotal meeting at the White House, President Biden urged President-elect Trump to prioritize the release of American hostages held in Gaza. This unusual yet crucial cooperation between the outgoing and incoming administrations reflects the urgent need to act quickly. As Jake Sullivan, Biden’s National Security Adviser, emphasized, “Every day counts” in securing the return of loved ones held captive by Hamas.
Families of the hostages have been vocal in urging both administrations to set aside political differences and collaborate on reaching a deal. Jonathan Dekel-Chen, whose son Sagui is among the hostages, shared a powerful plea: “If the sides wait until Trump enters office…there’s a very real possibility that none of the hostages will remain alive.” Dekel-Chen’s words remind us of the deteriorating conditions in Gaza and the pressing need to bring these hostages home.
In response, Trump reaffirmed his commitment, stating, “I wanted to know [Biden’s] views on where we are and what he thinks.” Trump’s willingness to listen and Biden’s openness to collaboration mark a rare moment of bipartisan unity.
As Christian Women For Israel, let us pray for the safe return of these hostages and for unity between leaders. May God guide their steps and protect the innocent, bringing peace and resolution in these challenging times.
And as you join us in praising the Living God for the miracle of the modern-day state of Israel, we pray youā€™ll renew your own resolve to bless Israel and the Jewish people by giving a generous gift of support.
May God bless you for being a blessing to Israel and the Jewish people
