As we stand at the cusp of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the alarming surge in antisemitism, as reported by the ADL, casts a somber shadow on our hearts. In a period spanning just three months since the October 7th attack in Israel, the United States has witnessed a staggering 360-percent increase in antisemitic incidents. This powerful reality is not just a statistic; it's a clear reminder for us, as Christian Women for Israel, to be lights in the darkness of this world, embodying the call of Esther 'for such a time as this,' and standing firm in our commitment against such hatred.
Shocking as it may be, as we observe International Holocaust Remembrance Day at the end of this month, we are painfully reminded that Jewish lives are still being held hostage, torn from their families, and subjected to brutality and the United Nations has failed to respond to this horrific attack. This stark reality echoes the horrors of the past, urging us not to be silent spectators but active advocates for justice and peace.
As modern-day Esthers, our response to this rising tide of Antisemitism and injustice needs to be robust and multifaceted. Here are three ways we can actively engage in this battle:
Educational Advocacy: Knowledge is power. By educating ourselves, our children and grandchildren and neighbors about the Holocaust, the history of Israel, and the Jewish people, we empower our community to counter misinformation with truth. Let's encourage discussions, participate in educational programs, and share resources that shed light on these critical issues.
Prayerful Solidarity: Our prayers are a powerful weapon. Let us pray fervently for the peace of Jerusalem, for the safety and liberation of those barbarically held captive, and for the healing of United States torn apart by hatred and conflict. Our united prayers can bring about change and comfort those in distress.
Active Support: Our actions speak louder than words. Participating in events commemorating the Holocaust, supporting initiatives that promote understanding and peace, and standing against any form of hatred in our communities are tangible ways we can make a difference.
Our love for Israel needs to be more than a sentiment confined within our own circles. This is where CW4I's initiative, "Explore the Holy Land: Hearts and Horizons," comes into play. It's not just an educational endeavor; it's a movement to counter the legacy of antisemitism and instill an understanding of Israel's complex history and biblical significance. We aim to engage young minds in exploring Israel's rich scriptural history and culture, fostering a new generation of informed advocates, modern-day Esthers.
As we remember the story of Esther, let us draw inspiration from her courage. She stood boldly against Haman's plot, not with aggression, but with strategic wisdom and unwavering faith. Today, we face the modern-day Hamans with the same spirit of Esther – not in fear, but with boldness and conviction.
Let us be the Esthers of our time, standing up against ignorance and hate, transforming despair into a legacy of Shalom and love for Israel. Your voice, support, and prayers are crucial in making this vision a reality. Together, we can ignite a passion in a new generation to carry the torch of truth and love.
Our Prayer for Today:
Heavenly Father, in the shadow of rising antisemitism, grant us the courage of Esther to stand for Your truth and love. Help us to ignite a passion in others, to educate, to pray, and to act in ways that honor You and support Your people. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Shalom and Love,
Christian Women For Israel
And as you join us in praising the Living God for the miracle of the modern-day state of Israel, we pray you’ll renew your own resolve to bless Israel and the Jewish people by giving a generous gift of support.
May God bless you for being a blessing to Israel and the Jewish people
