Call to an Esther 3-Day Fast for the Hostages

As the world anxiously watches ongoing negotiations for the release of hostages held by Hamas, the urgency of prayer has never been greater. President-elect Donald Trump has issued a stark warning, declaring that "all hell will break out" if the hostages are not released before his inauguration on January 20. Meanwhile, Trump’s Middle East special envoy, Steve Witkoff, is heading to Qatar to continue talks, signaling that progress is being made but the situation remains precarious.

We are reminded of Queen Esther’s bold act of faith when faced with the impending destruction of her people. Esther called for a three-day fast, saying, “Go, gather all the Jews… and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”Esther 4:16

Today, like Esther, we are faced with a crisis that calls for action, prayer, and fasting. This Friday, we invite you to join us in an Esther 3-Day Fast to intercede for the safe release of the hostages and for God’s divine intervention in the Middle East.

As we fast and pray, let us focus on Isaiah 58:6: “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?”

Let us be clear: this is not just about geopolitical posturing; this is about human lives, families waiting for their loved ones, and the safety of innocents caught in a web of terror. The urgency is real, and our prayers matter.

Let us come together, as Modern-Day Esthers, to petition the Lord for His divine intervention—praying not only for the safe return of those held captive but also for peace and protection in the region. Together, we will lift up the hostages, their families, and all those working tirelessly to secure their release.

Let us remember Esther’s courage and her reliance on God’s power as we dedicate ourselves to these three days of fasting and prayer. Lives depend on it, and the Lord’s promises are true. Will you join us?

And as you join us in praising the Living God for the miracle of the modern-day state of Israel, we pray youā€™ll renew your own resolve to bless Israel and the Jewish people by giving a generous gift of support.

May God bless you for being a blessing to Israel and the Jewish people
