Yehuda Bauer, one of the most prominent Holocaust scholars of our time, passed away on October 18, 2024, at the age of 98. Born in Prague in 1926, Bauer fled with his family just before the outbreak of World War II. He dedicated his life to the study of the Holocaust, becoming a professor and later an academic adviser at Yad Vashem, Israel’s World Holocaust Remembrance Center.
Yehuda Bauer, a pioneering Holocaust scholar and moral voice, dedicated his life to ensuring the world never forgets the atrocities of the Holocaust. His powerful reflections serve as a reminder that history must not only be remembered but acted upon. Bauer’s work has been vital in addressing the rise of modern-day antisemitism and teaching the world about the dangers of hatred and bigotry.
In today’s world, where antisemitism is once again on the rise, Bauer’s message is more relevant than ever. For Christian Women For Israel, Bauer’s teachings offer a clear call to stand against hate and stand up for the Jewish people. We can honor his legacy by ensuring that Israel and the Jewish people continue to receive our unwavering support, both in prayer and in action.
