As the two countries discuss the future of bilateral ties, which comes against a backdrop of escalating tensions in the wake of a series of fatal rocket attacks last year on American troops, Iran will be eyeing the proceedings.
"JVP and their ilk see Israel as an irredeemable evil in a binary world composed of victims and oppressors," wrote David May, of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.
“Hezbollah’s goal is the destruction of Israel and the Jews, and we should not be offering a safe haven for them to hide in Germany and finance their armed struggle in Lebanon against Israel from our territory,” senior AfD MP Beatrix von Storch, said in a statement.
In a video on Maan News Agency’s YouTube channel on Jan. 16, Palestinian journalist Dr. Nasser Al-Laham said Israel has become so arrogant that one day someone angry will drop a nuclear bomb on it, and there will be nobody left to say “Boker tov” (“Good morning” in Hebrew).
“The lack of boundaries, combined with the growing success of this platform, makes it an ideal virtual home for hate speech and extremist content,” it concluded.
“No human can be truly respected without caring for their basic needs, the most elementary of which is food,” said Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who launched the initiative in 2017.
